Who are we?
We are a private, boy’s club lacrosse team. We are not sponsored or affiliated with Beverly Hills High School. Because box lacrosse only plays 6 players at a time, we would prefer a roster of about 12 players. Tryouts will be either:
- Tuesday, August 9th from 1pm-3pm
- Saturday, August 12th from 10am-Noon
- If you missed tryouts, that's ok. Contact Coach Kobe below and schedule a makeup tryout.
What is box lacrosse?
Box lacrosse is also called indoor lacrosse. It is played inside a roller rink with 6 players at a time (per team). Box lacrosse is very different from field lacrosse. The space is much more confined. Only short sticks are allowed. The goal is much smaller. Box lacrosse places an emphasis on stick skills, accuracy, and the ability to dodge and create scoring opportunities. This box team would not be a good option for beginner lacrosse players.
Where/When would we play?
We will practice on Wednesday from 3:30-5pm and Saturday from 10am-noon. We will practice on either the football field, front lawn, or outdoor basketball court depending on availability.
Games are played at Recreation Park in El Segundo. Games will take place on Sunday nights at either 5 or 6pm during the months of September and October. The address to Recreation Park is: 401 Sheldon St, El Segundo, CA 90245
How much would it cost?
The individual registration cost will be $150 per player plus $35 to register with US Lacrosse. Participation will not be allowed unless you are a member of US Lacrosse. The following link will take tou to the US Lacrosse registration website: http://www.uslacrosse.org/membership.aspx
The individual registration money would be used to register the team with the El Segundo league, to provide the coaches with a modest stipend, and to purchase needed supplies such as balls and jerseys. Since this is a private club team, we cannot use the BHHS lacrosse jerseys. Online registration will be open soon. Stay tuned.
Equipment Needed:
Because we are not affiliated with Beverly Hills High School, students will provide their own equipment. Be sure to talk with your coach prior to purchasing equipment. Box lacrosse may require slightly different equipment than field lacrosse.
Travel Help:
Because we are a club team, we are not affiliated with BHHS. Therefore, we will not have buses provided for transportation. We must rely on coaches, players, and parents to assist with carpooling players to and from games. Your help is needed. We will likely employ a parent carpool rotation system for games.
